sandbanks

This new build house is to be an exemplar of sustainable modern architecture. A street-facing elevation of timber cladding and local portland stone offers glimpses through and progressively opens up to the sea . Designed for a family who have lived in Sandbanks for several generations, the spaces are designed to enjoy the beach, relax and eat together for this and many future generations.

Sandbanks 2

An area previously classified as countryside, this leafy site is being developed into a community of 9 family homes. The new houses are largely closed on three sides- open on one side, offering privacy and protection from a local busy road, but opening up onto private gardens. Orientation of the houses minimises overlooking but preserves the maximum number of trees on the site.

This proposed development of 9 homes is for a land-locked site in St Albans. The arrangement of buildings avoids direct overlooking onto neighbouring properties, whilst ensuring every home has a garden and a terrace or balcony.  The materials and forms proposed are derived from a ‘Hertfordshire Barn’ typology – incorporating a brick base with a blackened timber upper storey.

A new build detached house on a hidden site in the picturesque town of Dartmouth, this project is to be an exemplar of sustainable modern architecture. The house is orientated south taking advantage of the harbour views with a predominantly glazed façade, sunset balcony and breakfast terrace. The house is clad in local stone and cor-ten steel with a floating metal roof.  Designed for a retiring couple.
